Krissy in her backyard in a bright yellow swimsuit

There’s something so fun about slipping into a bright yellow swimsuit and letting the sunshine do the rest. I love how this bold color makes me feel vibrant and confident, especially paired with my favorite sunglasses that are reflecting the pool right back at me. With my hair tossed up messily in a claw clip and the warm sun hitting my skin, I couldn’t resist snapping a quick selfie while lounging on this colorful striped towel. It’s one of those easy, no-fuss moments that just feels good.

I’ve always been drawn to bright colors, but there’s something extra special about yellow in the summer. It’s cheerful, energetic, and unapologetically happy. The moment I put this swimsuit on, I felt an instant shift in my mood. The vibrant shade against my skin made me feel alive and glowing. It wasn’t just about how it looked — it was about how it made me feel. Bold. Playful. Completely at home in my own body.

The backyard pool has become my little sanctuary this season. There’s no need for fancy plans or big trips when you have sunshine, water, and a comfy lounge chair waiting for you. I love how the light bounces off the surface of the pool and creates those little dancing reflections everywhere. My sunglasses were catching every bit of it, turning the whole scene into something almost magical. That’s when I knew I had to capture the moment.

I tossed my hair up in a messy claw clip, letting a few strands fall around my face, and stretched out on the colorful striped towel. The fabric felt warm from the sun, and the stripes added just the right pop of personality to the scene. Everything about this setup felt effortless — no heavy makeup, no overthinking, just me enjoying a quiet afternoon in my favorite color.

Days like this by the pool always remind me to slow down and enjoy the little things. No heavy plans, just sunshine, a comfy lounge chair, and the freedom to feel good in my own skin. I’m soaking up every bit of this relaxed vibe and already looking forward to more afternoons that leave me smiling, sun-kissed, and completely at ease.

There’s a special kind of peace that comes from these simple backyard moments. In a world that moves so fast, being able to pause and just exist in the sunshine feels like a luxury. I didn’t have anywhere to be. I didn’t need to look perfect. I just needed to be present — and that was more than enough.

I’ve learned that confidence doesn’t always come from big achievements or dramatic changes. Sometimes it comes from the smallest decisions, like choosing to wear the bright swimsuit instead of the safe black one. Choosing to take the selfie instead of overthinking how I might look. Choosing to enjoy the warmth on my skin instead of worrying about what I “should” be doing. These little acts of self-acceptance add up, and they show in the way you carry yourself.

The bright yellow swimsuit has quickly become one of my favorites this summer. It’s bold without being overwhelming, fun without trying too hard. Every time I wear it, I feel like I’m giving myself permission to be a little louder, a little brighter, and a lot more joyful. And honestly? That feeling is addictive.

As I lay there on the towel, I found myself thinking about all the summers that came before this one. The ones spent at public pools as a kid, the awkward teenage years trying to figure out who I was, and now — this version of me who finally feels comfortable just being. It’s funny how something as simple as a swimsuit can become part of your story.

I hope this little backyard moment inspires you to create your own easy, joyful afternoons. Whether it’s by the pool, in your backyard, or even just sitting outside with a cold drink, I hope you give yourself permission to slow down and feel good in whatever makes you feel like you.

Because at the end of the day, the best kind of summer days are the ones that leave you smiling, sun-kissed, and completely at ease — just like this one.

Thank you for being here and sharing these bright, happy moments with me.
